what to expect

at convo we provide you with lots of options to explore your wellness; there's no right or wrong way to do it.

if you're new to the conversation about mental health it can be pretty confusing to know where to start; we try to make the process a bit easier with an interdisciplinary team. we also offer comprehensive care programs to highlight specific services with specific professionals to help common issues we are seeing in the community.

if you want to work with anyone on the convo team just contact them directly to learn more about what they offer, they will help you understand the process a bit better so you can start your wellness journey. feel free to contact Julian with any questions you have

what services should i be doing?

well, that's up to you!

we think it's best for everyone to have a therapist, even if you meet once per month because having someone that you can feel comfortable talking about life is important. therapists have a particular set of skills to not only listen but help you improve your quality of life. you might consider joining the "convo club" during the month and an alternative therapy every once in a while, whatever feels right.

do i even need therapy?

everyone can benefit from it

there's really no commitment with therapy, it's all up to you. we evaluate and set up plans to help you become the best version of yourself, but it's up to you what you disclose and what you want to work on. we suggest that everyone finds a therapist who they connect with so they can express themselves in a safe space with the skills needed to improve quality of life. once you establish a relationship with a therapist, sometimes you might only meet once a month, other times it could be every week, depending on what feels good to you (we will be sure to give you our best medical advice).

do we take insurance?

yes! as long as you have "out of network" benefits

YES! We are paneled with BCBS, BCN, and Aetna for any service provided by a licensed professional. we charge cash fees for everything else at convo.

If we are out of network we can give you superbills to send to your insurance company, they will typically reimburse you 80% of the cost but each plan is different; you will want to familiarize yourself with your "out of network" benefits.  in some instances you can request a "single case agreement" or "gap" coverage, you might have to argue with your insurance company but it's worth it when you find the right fit for therapy. we also suggest getting a profile with Mentaya, they're a 3rd party biller that will submit out of network claims for you for a 5% fee! We know this seems intimidating if you haven't dealt with it before so please connect with Julian to talk more about this process, its really not that difficult, we promise.

do i need to be available for my child to get access?

nope, they can self govern.

a big plus of working with convo is that we have multiple services for you or your family to have access to. so, after you fill out some forms your child can set up their own appointments and talk with whoever they want at convo. we think that giving people control over the healing process is really important, plus it's one less thing for you to handle--we have you covered.

what's the wait time for therapy?

depends on each therapist

check out the professionals page to connect with the providers and learn more about each person's schedule and availability. they will help you better understand if they are accepting new people to work with or if they have a wait period. In the meantime, we suggest you access our other services for support to get started in the right direction.

are convo services virtual or in person?

mostly online but some are in person

mostly everything is virtual at convo, all you need is a phone/tablet/computer to connect. there are some exceptions depending on the service (volunteering, sports therapy, chiropractor, mindfulness walks, etc). feel free to inquire with our staff to learn more

what happens if i miss an appointment?

depends on the situation but we understand

life happens, and sometimes that means we have last minute changes in our day. if you are sick or have an emergency its no big deal, we just ask you to let us know as soon as possible. otherwise, we charge a $100 no show fee to stress the importance of showing up. there is a huge need for our services and want people to be able to access them, when you don't show up its preventing that from happening. thanks for understanding.
